Going to do the big D and I do mean Dallas!

It's official, we're moving to Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Really, I could leave the "it's official" part out since I am back here in San Diego. I just returned from taking Sione and a 5 x 8 ft U-Haul trailer full of our belongings to Euless, Texas. It took us about two 10 hour days (give or take) to get there by way of El Paso. LaRee and I stayed with Sione for 4 very busy days and now we are back in San Diego until the end of July to the middle of August. I have opened myself up to some work obligations before I go. You may be asking yourself, "What is Verlyn going to do?" Well, in his exact words, "I don't think I can be that far away from LaRee" sooo, he's going with us. For now we are renting an apartment in Euless. Sione says that it takes him longer to get from the airport terminal to the employee parking than it does to drive back to the apartment. Quite a switch from his daily 2 hour drive up to John Wayne airport and then another 2 hour drive home. I am glad that he doesn't have to do that anymore and I am grateful that he was willing to make that sacrifice for the last 3 years so that we could be together. He is quite the trooper and never complains. Oh, if I could only be so wise.

LaRee was great on the first day of traveling. Grandpa Berg is a genius. He bought her a doodle pad for the trip and she loved it. Around 8:30 at night she started to fuss so we busted out the DVD player so that she could watch some oh so comforting Blues Clues. Note in the picture the mix of old tears and a new smile.

I was not sure how we were going to unload the pick-up truck and the trailer with an anxious and willing to help 1 year old, but once again Blues Clues came to the rescue.

I felt like I was taking/leaving my boy at college as we bought him the necessities (trash bags, bologna, paper towels, captain crunch, toilet paper, hamburger helper) it was so sad. It took me back to the day that my parents dropped me off at Ricks College with a couple apples, a box of Triscuits and a can of spray cheese. We had a quick family prayer in the living room of my apartment and they were off. Hopefully, Sione feels more settled in then I did.

We took very little furniture with us so we had to go out and buy Sione a recliner so that he could have somewhere to sit (besides the floor.) He is truly living the bachelors life. He has his laptop, T.V. and recliner, he's set! We miss him terribly and can't wait to be with him again!!

Before we went to Texas, we took a quick trip up to San Francisco to see Junior's family. A special treat, his dad was here in the States from Tonga. We had such a good time and it is always a joy to see LaRee with her cousins. Family is so important and the relationships we have with them is even more important. Clockwise: LaRee, Ezias, Baby Tualau, & Susana

LaRee loves her Grandpa and Grandma time
